South African Technical Auditing Services (Pty) Ltd (Reg. No. 2002/015355/07) (“SATAS”) processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This notice explains what information this website, satas.co.za, publishes and collects, and why.

1. Information we publish about certified clients

The Certified Clients Directory lists, for each SATAS certificate: the company name, certificate number, product category, the standards and products certified, trade mark, business address and telephone number, and the certificate’s status and expiry date.

As a SANAS-accredited product certification body operating to ISO/IEC 17065, SATAS publishes this directory so that buyers, specifiers and authorities can check whether a certification is valid. Certified clients are informed of this listing in the SATAS Certification Agreement. Suspended, withdrawn and cancelled certificates stay listed with their current status so that nobody relies on them by mistake.

Certified clients can ask us to correct their details at contact@satas.co.za. We update the directory within 10 working days.

2. Information we collect when you visit this website

• This website has no user accounts, contact forms, advertising or analytics tools.
• Visitor counter: one cookie (srs_unique_visitor) lets the website count each visitor once in the visitor total shown at the bottom of the page. It is not used to identify you and is not shared.
• Server logs: our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the website secure and working.
• Email and telephone: if you contact us, we use your details only to respond to you and to keep the records our certification activities require.

3. Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run this website, such as our hosting provider, and where the law requires it.

4. Security

The website uses secure (HTTPS) connections, and only authorised SATAS staff can change its content.

5. Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask whether we hold personal information about you, and ask us to correct or delete it or object to its processing. Contact our Information Officer at contact@satas.co.za or 079 043 2960. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).

6. Access to information (PAIA)

Our manual in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (PAIA) explains how to request records held by SATAS. It is available on request at contact@satas.co.za.
